Les Mis makes me Happy

Obsession is bad right? Right! I have a problem... it's called Les Miserables. It is probably the most inspirational book/play/musical I have ever known. I am OBSESSED. I don't try to hide it either apparently. Well I got to go see it on June 9th and it was even better than I expected! Please, everyone. Get to know the story, music, background, everything! I may or may not have cried multiple times...

This is from the 25th anniversary in London. It plays on tv so record it and watch it! I also may or may not memorize my favorite scenes with him in it...
Wahoo!

Sum Summer

I didn't do a post about graduation but I promise I DID in fact graduate and oh boy, it feels great! Here's just a few pictures. I won't do an overload because well, everyone looks the same in those stylish blue gowns.

I'm gonna miss them while they're off at BYU this summer!!

There ya have it! That night was a blast and I got to see the sunrise with some of my closest friends. So fun! Also, Skyler, Lindsay and I went to the cutest place called The Duce in Phoenix. It's a restaurant but has 100% vintage clothes and house items you can buy too. Look out for it! It looks like this.

Ok and one last thing for this post. I woke up one morning and picked out my absolute favorite part of my room. The one little space where I can look and be completely happy even if it hadn't been such a happy day. Wanna know what it is?! K I'll show you.

I just love this picture so much. It's perfect in every way!

Because of Your Faith

Today I was just sitting and pondering pretty much everything about my life. I started to feel a little bit down because ya know, change is always scary.Don't get me wrong, I have been so excited to graduate but it's still another unknown coming my way. How will people remember me? What is gonna happen in the future? Then I went onto lds.org and listened/read the best talk by Elder Holland. It's called "Because of Your Faith" and was from the October 2010 conference. Here is just one part that I loved.

"We all know there are special keys, covenants, and responsibilities given to the presiding officers of the Church, but we also know that the Church draws incomparable strength, a truly unique vitality, from the faith and devotion of every member of this Church, whoever you may be. In whatever country you live, however young or inadequate you feel, or however aged or limited you see yourself as being, I testify you are individually loved of God, you are central to the meaning of His work, and you are cherished and prayed for by the presiding officers of His Church. The personal value, the sacred splendor of every one of you, is the very reason there is a plan for salvation and exaltation. Contrary to the parlance of the day, this is about you. No, don’t turn and look at your neighbor. I am talking to you!

I have struggled to find an adequate way to tell you how loved of God you are and how grateful we on this stand are for you. I am trying to be voice for the very angels of heaven in thanking you for every good thing you have ever done, for every kind word you have ever said, for every sacrifice you have ever made in extending to someone—to anyone—the beauty and blessings of the gospel of Jesus Christ."

This is just what I needed. Isn't it amazing how it ALWAYS seems to work that way? It's so crazy and I just absolutely love this restored gospel! How perfect. It never fails me. Go on and read the rest. It's awesome.Anyway, that is my message for everyone today. We've done good. Keep it up and stay faithful because everything will work out eventually!

Our Team

I was on lds.org the other day and came across a wonderful video about two teenage boys from Safford and Thatcher. Look it up! It's awesome. Well there was a quote said in the video that I would love to share. "All of God's children wear the same jersey. Our team is the brotherhood of man." Don't you just love that? We are all here striving for the same goal and we are ALL on each other's team. It's time we stop judging, competing, and arguing and get in touch with the eternal aspect of this game plan. We are all children of God! Every single one of us. We can win this battle with the adversary! I know I have great people in my life to help me whenever I feel weak or hurt. I hope I am one of those people who lift and encourage others to endure to the end until we all win the battle. Together.

My little buddies

Well we are officially a family of boys. I have 3 nephews. That's RIGHT! 3!! Everett was born April 12th and he is such a cute, sweet little man. I love my nephews so much and can't wait to be with Everett as he grows up. He's got the best family that will be sure to smother him with LOTS of love! I can't wait to get to know you Rett! I promise we'll play lots and have many happy moments together.
I like to pretend like he's already smiling at me.

I'm going to do a little post of my two other nephews as well because I love them just as much as this little guy obviously! So here's Ryan and Alex's boy, Owen. We truly are buddies. I don't think my family likes hearing this, but I'm his definite favorite on my side of the family! He is growing up so fast and learning so quickly! We have such a special little relationship. He is a very smiley boy who has a nice, deep laugh to go with it. I can never get enough of him!
O really loves food.

Then there's Rivers. The oldest of the nephews with enough spunk to fill the whole family! He's got tons of personality and isn't afraid to show it in the best way possible. He's so much fun and terrible twos, I have to say, does NOT apply to this boy. He just keeps getting sweeter and sweeter as he gets older. We've had a funny relationship. Sometimes he isn't too fond of me... maybe because I'm too overbearing and give him too many kisses? But he's starting to appreciate them more and more. Tonight he actually said my name over and over until I gave him a kiss goodnight!  (I knew he loved them)

His first time dying easter eggs. He was so intrigued.

This brings me to my next little post. I had some of the girls over to dye easter eggs and watch Tangled... but of course whenever I want to watch a movie with people at my house the DVD play never works! Honestly, it happens often. But it's alright because we totally still had fun. Oh and our All that Jazz concert was so much fun! It was a fabulous way to end an amazing jazz year with my group. Encore did wonderful as usual and I am so proud of Premiere as well! Although it may have sounded rough to us, I am so proud of ourselves! Night in the City was the hardest, funnest thing we've ever done and it was totally worth it. Premiere has been one of the highlights of senior year and I can honestly say I look forward to 4th hour every single day! Yay for jazz and easter eggs!

Surprise!

Yep, I know it's only been a single day since my blog was born, but I just want to share a happy story. I came home from rollerblading with Sky and guess what I find! My favorite drink ever... blue powerade with a little note attached. Wow, how thoughtful! So thank you whoever you are because that was so sweet and made my night. Yay for little acts of service. :)

Please excuse the shiny face... I did just go rollerblading. Just know that I am so HAPPY!

Oh and shout out to my 2 lovely friends Makaelee Owens and Savannah Stapely. Happy birthday girls!

Here we go!

Yep, I'm a blogger now! I've just been noticing so many wonderful things in my life lately that I can't help but want to share it with anyone and everyone who might want a pick-me-up. Yes, this blog is going to be filled with happy things and only happy things... because I think that's what the world needs. "Men are that they might have joy." This is a principle I tend to live by no matter what comes my way.

So, if you happen to stumble upon this blog you might wonder who in the world are you reading about. Well, read the website you just entered! The name is Haylee and here are just a few traits of mine that have become a part of me.

1. I love being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. If this is something that is bothersome to any reader then I'm sorry but it is the BIGGEST part of my life and I can honestly say it is my main source of happiness.

2. I have the cutest, BEST, most amazing family in the world! Wanna see?!
Here we are picking up my brother Heath from his mission in Canada.

3. Music! It makes me so happy. Listening, singing, playing, I love it.
4. Could I even mention myself without mentioning my friends? We've had some pretty fun times together and of course they'll continue! After all, the Beatles sang it best~ I get by with a little help from my friends.

These two never fail to make me smile!

Winter Formal day activity. Made up of our closest friends.
What better way to be with friends than the happiest place on earth?

My brother who never truly was. We are family without being blood related. It's wonderful.
The girls
And two of my favorite guys.

Then there's Skyler, one of the greatest people you'll ever meet.

4. Wow, I'm only at 4?! Ok I'll just get everything I love out of the way at once. Tennis, blue powerade (obsession), reading, running, singing some good jazz, shopping (but not spending my money), orange blossoms, Mexican food, and taking pictures of course! However there is one thing that deserves its own number.

5. I absolutely love, more than anything else, to LAUGH! Seriously. Be around me for more than 10 minutes if you want to hear it and it may look something like this...
but hopefully not.
But truly, I love to laugh and be happy and enjoy life! I'm going to do as the Nephites did and "LIVE AFTER THE MANNER OF HAPPINESS." It's the best way to go!
So to everyone who read this gigantic first post, just expect to be happy if you want to read my blog because that's all I ever want to be.
